PC editing software

Does anyone know where I can purchase PC editing software to edit a film, I have a non-digital camera I am using for it, I need something to digitalize it too.
All help is wanted.

OK i take it youe using an analogue video camera ( and not film ). So in order to use any editing software youre gonna need a video capture card to digitize the footage. There are various manufacturers producing cards with varied price tags to go with them. Generally the less rendering time you wait the more you'll pay. All the expensive cards work in real time whilst the lower priced ones have hefty waiting times. Why not check some web pages out to come to a price range decision. Matrox and pinnacle are the main ones to check out. Once you have the card you will have to chose some software in which to edit. Most cards come bundled with software ( this way you know its compatable with your card ) You can purchase another program if you dont like the bundled software, but check it will work with the card. The main programs on the market are adobe's premiere 5.1, ulead's videostudio4 , mgi's videowave 3 and pinnacles own studio software. I myself use the pinnacle dc30 card with premiere 5.1 and it's the biz. This card is quite reasonable at about ?400 but you'll get it half price if you buy secondhand
